Then intro to Stop motion, watches some short films showing how artists can use mediums such as paper in replacement and displacement animation. An introduction to Dragon frame, the frame capture programme.
Tuesday- Looked up and wrote down some tips for Dragon frame such as, how to take frames and the difference between 24 frames per second and 12 frames per second holding each frame twice.
Wednesday- heard 4 sounds and worked in a group of 4 to make a 25 second film. we chose sound 2 (forest ambience) and thought about what we could make such as having a heavy textured boil to represent the water sounds and considered attempting some camera movements but decided against it. Worked as a group to link the clips together.
Thursday- made a story board for a raindrop shape. decided to have a fish shape jumping up, spinning and diving back down.
Friday- Picture perfect workshop- discussed what makes an “image” and discussed the groups 10 different images and what they could mean. In “history of animation” learned about the “little nemo” animated film and the first instances of character animation in Gertie the Dino and the development of cell animation and the industrialisation of the process. Then used newspaper/paper back book pages and a variety of blue paper and card textures to begin creating 30 frames of the cycle in progressing order. made sure to work with the group to make sure the clips would line up.
Saturday/Sunday- continued and finished the fish cycle of frames ready to shoot the cycle on Monday.
